Scania secures major orders at Euro Bus Expo 2006

Scania has secured several major orders for its latest bus and coach models during the Euro Bus Expo at the NEC.

Ten Scania N94 UD Omni-City double deckers have been ordered by Lothian Buses. The 73-seater variants will be in service from June of 2007. Powered by a 9-litre six-cylinder engine, rated at 260 bhp, the N94 UD Omni-City features a five speed fully automatic transmission.

London United has ordered nine Scania N230 UD East Lancs bodied double deckers. Powered by a Euro-4 compliant 9-litre five-cylinder engine, rated at 230 bhp, these vehicles also feature a five speed fully automatic transmission. They join a 78-strong Scania fleet at London United, and will begin ferrying passengers around the capital in the second quarter of 2007.

In addition, an order for three school coaches, operated by Lucketts of Fareham, has also been won. The Scania K230 IB Irizar-bodied S-KOOL vehicles will seat 70 passengers and join Lucketts existing fleet of some 40 Scanias.
