First Scania Irizar coach for Johnsons

Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire-based coach and bus operator Johnsons Quality Coach and Bus Travel, has placed an order with Scania (Great Britain) Limited for its first Scania Irizar PB luxury touring coach.

Based on a Scania K340EB4x2 chassis, the 12.2-metre overall length vehicle will be equipped with a Scania DC12-10 Euro 4 EGR engine and a six-speed fully-automatic ZF 6HP602 gearbox.

Being built to Johnson's Club Class specification, the bodywork will feature 44  reclining seats, extra-dark tinted glass, aircraft-style lockers, a DVD player with two monitors and a drinks machine.

"This vehicle, which will take our fleet strength to 40, will take its place in our front-line Club Class fleet to operate on premier UK and European tours from our own brochure," comments Johnsons' Commercial Director John Johnson.  "As such, we were looking for a vehicle that would make an impression on our customers; a head-turner with a real 'wow-factor' – which is something the Scania Irizar PB undeniably offers in abundance.

"Furthermore, after examining the market, we also feel the Scania Irizar PB package represents excellent value for money."

With a history stretching back to 1909, Johnsons Quality Coach and Bus Travel today provides a full range of PCV services.  In addition to its own tours and excursions, the company operates bus services throughout the South Warwickshire and South Birmingham area, including schools and other contract work.
