For the 13-litre engines, Scania has developed a new platform based on an already well-proven inline 6 cylinder format and the Scania modular combustion concept.
Common to all these engines is a stronger block to withstand the higher pressures related to the injection system, simplified timing gears, and a more advanced development of the Scania modular combustion concept.
These features, together with the unique and patented technologies (Scania EGR, Scania XPI and Scania VGT) contribute to achieving the outstanding performance, economy, driveability and higher uptime of the new Euro 5 engines.
