  Mine protection Scania CP19 cab

On international assignments, the threat of mines may remain long after the actual conflict has ceased. The mine protection mounted on a standard truck should, when an antitank mine is hit, protect the occupants in such a way that they could leave the truck unhurt.

Specially designed run-flat devices in the wheels redirect part of the shock wave of the mine-explosion outwards.

The wheel housings are equipped with armoured plates that, by the virtue of their design, deflect the shock wave out towards the sides instead of encapsulating it within the wheelhouse.

The mine explosion is sufficient to generate an impulse wave, in the floor of the cab that can smash a leg if the foot is touching the floor panel. In order to avoid this the occupants legs are resting on a "double-floor" which is not in contact with the cab floor.
