It is simplicity – based on a 4-speed box plus a planetary section – is a great virtue that many drivers will readily appreciate. Its strength is more than a match for the high-torque outputs of all Scania in-line engines.

Economy is also a strong point. The broad band of high torque from all Scania engines means there’s plenty of flexibility for engaging a ratio that rarely allows the revs to creep outside the boundaries of the green economy band.

The addition of a Scania Retarder will help improve journey times and economy, especially over undulating roads.

The only maintenance required is occasional oil and filter changes. Your local Scania sales and service company may recommend the fitting of an oil cooler for applications involving hard work in extreme conditions.
