Scania has an excellent reputation for quality and reliability which makes its used trucks some of the most sought after in the marketplace. Leading UK truck title Commercial Motor tests not only the latest trucks but also looks at the best buys in the used sector and is full of praise for Scania’s 4-Series vehicles.

The magazine’s test of the R124 420 twin-steer tractor unit reproduced here covered some 275 miles of demanding motorway and A-road conditions and the vehicles returned 7.39mph at 44 tonnes. The magazine particularly liked the handling and driveline, the overall ccondition of the vehicle and the cab’s high degree of ccomfort. Commercial Motor concluded that  “The Scania produced an effortless performance at 44 tonnes despite a sub-10hp/tonne engine. With Euro-3 tractors in short supply, it is bound to be snapped up.”
