Andidrain re-equips with Scania

Carlisle-based waste water and sewage plant maintenance and survey company Andidrain has taken delivery of a specialised vacuum loader based on a Scania eight-wheel rigid chassis.

Supplied by Graham Commercials, Scania's dealer for Cumbria and the surrounding area, the vehicle is now operating on Andidrain contracts nationwide.

Built on a Scania R 420 CB8x4HHZ chassis, the vehicle is fitted with a latest-generation, high performance vacuum body by Disab of Sweden.  Its onboard pump has a capacity of 8,200 cubic metres of air per hour and is capable of lifting materials such as stones, gravel, sand, dust, liquid and sludges from depths of up to 100-metres.  An additional feature is that the body has a high tip facility for skip loading.  Typical work for the machine includes the cleaning of deep storage stations and tanks for the UK's waste water and sewage industries.

"This vehicle represents the state-of-the-art in our industry; a premium truck chassis equipped with latest-generation vacuum equipment," says Andidrain Partner, Andy Little.  "As such, it is one of just 20-30 similar machines in the country.  When we started in business back in 1996, our very first vehicle was a Scania, so we are well aware of their capabilities.  Today, we have three on the fleet and continue to specify them for their durability and reliability, plus the excellent service we receive locally from Graham Commercials."
