The programme
Our training will help you develop your practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Practical skills and hands-on experience will be gained at the Scania service point you work at, while the training and knowledge you need to support them will come through attending the Scania Training Centre, which is located in Loughborough.
- Your training begins with a week's induction at the Outward Bound Centre in Aberdovey alongside other Scania Apprentices from around the country.
- After this your training will take place at the Scania Training Centre with its specialist instructors and dedicated workshop facilities.
- On successfully completing your training, which takes a total of four years, you will leave Scania Training Centre with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy Vehicle), which will include:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Technical Certificate and Diploma
- Key Skills Qualifications in
- Communication
- Application of Number
- Information Technology
- You will also have completed four Scania recognised product-training courses, three of which go toward the Scania Master Technician Programme
- Attendance at the Scania Training Centre is usually in two week blocks.
- While there, you will stay in approved accommodation at the Quality Inn Hotel in Loughborough which includes, amongst other things, full leisure facilities.
- All travel, living and accommodation expenses while attending training courses will be by your employing Scania Dealer who will also provide books and other necessary equipment for your studies.
