Driver / Labourer: Aberdeen


Reporting to the Service Manager, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining the up-keep of the branch and some driving duties.


Particular areas of responsibility will be:

  • Maintain the fabric of the branch to ensure excellent presentation of the site
  • Keep facilities, workshop and yard area clean and tidy
  • Repair and maintain tools and equipment
  • Carry out, where necessary small running repairs
  • Load and unload test weights from the MOT vehicles
  • Take vehicles for MOT
  • Prepare sales vehicles for delivery and collection as required and other duties as directed by Sales Department
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Current clean LGV licence
  • General maintenance experience
  • Good all round DIY skills

Particular experience/skills that will be regarded as ideal but not essential are:

  • Counter balance forklift truck licence

Driver / Labourer: Heathrow


Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the post holder will be responsible for collection and delivery of HGVs on behalf of the customer.


Particular areas of responsibility will be:

  • Collect and deliver HGVs for the customer in a safe manner
  • Keep facilities, workshop and yard area clean and tidy
  • Repair and maintain tools and equipment
  • Load and unload test weights from the MOT vehicles
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Current clean class 1 HGV licence
  • Clean driving licence
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Self motivated

Particular experience/skills that will be regarded as ideal but not essential are:

  • Counter balance forklift truck licence

HGV Technicians: Aberdeen, Andover, Doncaster (part time), Heathrow, Purfleet & Stansted


Reporting to the General Manager, the post holder will be an experienced Technician responsible for servicing and repairing a range of commercial vehicles to MOT standard.


Particular areas of responsibility will be:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicle to Vosa standard
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
  • Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or on customer's premises
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
  • Liaise with parts department to attain parts
  • Ensure Health &Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
  • Ensure an appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Maintain a thorough and current knowledge of products and attend training courses

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to organise work on own initiative and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks

Mobile Tail Lift Engineer: Heathrow


Reporting to the General Manager, the post holder will be an experienced Tail Lift Engineer responsible for servicing and repairing a range of vehicles with tail lifts.


Particular areas of responsibility will be:

  • Diagnose and repair faults on vehicles and trailers with tail lifts
  • Tail lift servicing loler and weight testing
  • Occasionally attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer's premises
  • Maintain a current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
  • Liaise with parts department to attain parts
  • Ensure all aspects of H&S working practices are adhered to

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining tail lifts
  • Current driving licence
  • Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to actively seek solutions to problems
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks

Senior Driver Trainer: Newbridge


Reporting to the Driver Trainer Manager, the post holder will provide Driver Training within the Scania Newbridge branch.


Particular areas of responsibility will be:

  • Meet & greet customers in line with Scania Driver Experience standards
  • Carry out Driving Assessments for internal & external customers
  • Train both internal & external customers to obtain their Truck / Bus Licences
  • Deliver theory and practical driver training in preparation for the CPC
  • Deliver First Aid training to both internal and external customers
  • Carry out product related training to both internal & external customers
  • Promote Scania as the training provider of choice

Candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within a similar business or professionally driven an LGV for a number of years
  • Be a DSA registered instructor capable of delivering B+E, C,C+E & D training
  • Customer focussed & the ability to work as a team member
  • Self-driven, pro-active with a willingness to excel within this field and to operate on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible approach to working practices
  • Computer literate

Particular experience/skills that will be regarded as ideal but not essential are:

  • Training experience (practical or theory)
  • Scania product knowledge

Additional information:

  • May be required to work away from base with occasional overnight stays
